I create art using multitude of mediums to inspire the imagination of the observer. There is a story to be told in every image, every possibility.

My art is sometimes bold, sometimes whimsical, even spiritual and always it is an expression from within.

I would call my art Abstract Narative.

I invite you to observe the possibilities, the story being told, and to interpret it as you wish.

Artist Bio

Lizanne Laurin is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative journey began with drawing as a child and grew through gymnastics, hairstyling, photography, and aerial dance. About a decade ago, a paint night introduced her to the joy of working on canvas. Today, painting is at the heart of her creative life—a way to bring stories, symbols, and possibilities to life through abstract and narrative work.

At L2 Studio, Lizanne works across ink, markers, collage, gold leaf, acrylic, and oil. The studio is also where she creates hairstyles for her select clientele. Beyond the studio, she collaborates with a talented local team on community murals that bring people together and raise awareness.

Three decades as a hairstylist, platform artist, and mentor to hairstylists across North America—along with her experience teaching and choreographing aerial dance—continue to shape her sense of movement and transformation. These influences are evident in her subjects and compositions.

Lizanne has studied through the Mastery Program at Milan Art Institute. Empathic, intuitive, and determined, she pursues her dreams with hard work and a willingness to shine. A Métis artist living in Manitoba’s Interlake region, she draws inspiration from the stories that connect people and the possibilities that emerge when we share our gifts.

Her favourite words are from Marianne Williamson: “Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our greatest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure… As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”
